Hello and a warm welcome to Mark Simmonds Photography!

I’m a South Australian born photographer, whose interest in cameras began during my early teenage years.

Watching apertures open and close and hearing shutters click in traditional SLR cameras drew fascination in my mind.  I recall the excitement I felt when I loaded a new roll of film, and wondered what I can create (and learn) with the 24 photos that lay ahead.  In those days if you didn’t get the image correct straight out of the camera, you didn’t get the shot. I have carried this mentality with my photography ever since, ensuring all elements of the image are precise before making that shutter go ‘click’.

After successfully completing high school I pursued photography into tertiary education and completed a Certificate II Advanced Diploma in Commercial Photography at the Croydon Institute of TAFE.

Before, during and since this time I have been a freelance photographer as well as working in the photo printing industry.  Shooting as much as possible, producing many photographs for clients and for my own pleasure.  After photographing my brother’s wedding I fell in love with the electric energy present and fast paced nature of photography required to accurately and successfully capture and present a well-rounded series of images. After completing this task I thought, this is certainly for me!

Which has brought me to where I am now, loving photography more than ever and forever refining my craft, covering many weddings passionately, with my high end camera equipment.  I offer a unique experience, with a super relaxed vibe while remaining professional so you can focus on enjoying your special day while I take care of the rest.

When I’m not producing images I’m creating music, enjoying time with my beautiful partner and staffies amongst nature, focusing on fitness and nutrition, reading and relaxing in front of documentaries.
